For those of you that haven't seen the video you really should watch it.  During the first few minutes, a member of the audience literally takes off his own shoe and throws it with a great amount of force at the President's head.  When the first one doesn't make contact, he takes off the other shoe and proceeds to do the same thing. Unfortunately he missed both times, but the entertainment value for those of us in the States was well worth the effort.

I wonder if he knows what a screw up he was over the last eight years.  I wonder if he actually gets it.  Never in the history of our country, or at least that I'm aware of, has a president been so widely disliked by, not only the American public, but the entire world.  I was watching Wanda Sykes on the Tonight Show when she said that we should actually make February George Bush's month since he's the one that put Barack Obama in the White House. I definitely think the failure of our administration over the last eight year didn't hurt our cause to get the Democrats back in power, but I think the American public finally woke up a bit.  AND...and, Sarah Palin didn't hurt either.  They actually think she has a shot in 2012...REALLY...really?

So, on a very cold day in New Mexico, I thank the Iraqi with the disposable shoes for making me smile.  I was thinking that something like that had to of happened in the United States at some point. And then I realized our economy is still so bad, none of us can afford to lose a shoe, much less a pair. I wouldn't mind seeing some big butch lesbian with a pitcher's arm give a up a steal toed Doc Martin at his head and take one for the team.
