It has been a long time since I've updated this crazy "blog" section.  Who knows if anyone actually reads it ;)  HOWEVER, I have to admit, when i watched the video of President Bush's last visit to Iraq, I thought a word or two would be appropriate.  And may I say, for a man that choked on a pretzel so many years ago, almost blacking out knocking himself out on a coffee table....I was SHOCKED at his cat like reflexes in Iraq.

Five hundred people sitting in a theatre waiting with anticipation as the lights start to dim, the chatter begins to subside and, slowly but surely, everyone catches the beat with their hands as Madonna's dance version of "four minutes" takes over the theatre.  My heart is racing a bit, the anticipation is building, the announcer welcomes the crowd and brings me to the stage. The roar of the crowd dampens the sound of my heart beat, and the show begins. 

"So like, I totally watched the RNC last night. I mean, really, could you believe that pep rally?  It was soooo cool, and i don't know about you, but I'm TOTALLY voting for Sarah Palin Home Coming Queen 2008!!"

 

In 1984 Palin came in second in the Miss Alaska competition, but won the Ms. Congeniality award. Ms. Congeniality my ass (no one does it better than Sandra Bullock..HOT!).  Sarah Palin's speech last night successfully got the Republican troops fired up (did anyone else notice the abundance of white, blonde haired, Stepford wives in the audience? No?  Just me?  Okay...moving on) :), but the speech had as much substance as an episode of Project Runway.  I think we can also agree, there was nothing "congenial" about it.  

 

 

 

Who said it was a good idea for me to sign up on Facebook??  Its nice making connections with fellow comedians, bookers and promoters, but being reminded that I dressed up as Ed Grimly (yes, triangle and everything) for Halloween in high school really doesn't need to be made public.  I also don't need reminders of band camp, the prom, or any other event that I've paid a lot of money in counseling to have permanently erased from my memory.

 

One of the new additions to my website is this blog. Yes, its true, this is the place where you can get a short glimpse of the insanity that flows through my mind. I would like to think its creativity, but I think that is yet to be decided. I'm not entirely sure what I'll write about each time I turn on my computer, but I've been engrossed in the Olympics for the last two days, so sit back and relax, we're off to Beijing. :)
